My cousins were shopping in Walmart, as you do, and heard the voice of a man singing Amazing grace. Not quietly to himself with earphones in, but out loud as though performing. He was in his own world. My cousins were so mezmerised that they followed him for several aisles.
He eventually made his way to the cash register, paid for his goods and left, still singing. It’s not what you expect to see and hear in a Walmart.
Like going to a rock concert and coming across an operatic aria. Or…
Maybe it was going to the zoo and finding yourself on the open plains of the Serengeti. Seeing lions, not caged in small enclosures, but, roaming free in the wild. We went to a Walmart, but he was in a cathedral.
We were all caged lions who forgot what it’s like to live in the wild. Some people know where they are, even though it looks like a store to everyone else.
Sometimes a lion in a zoo will roar as though it were free. Sometimes they sing Amazing Grace.
to singing, and roaring! Great catch, Tohru!
I love this - 'We went to Walmart but he went to a cathedral'.
I'm thinking now how I can make my working from home day surrounded by washing and calls for snacks and drinks into a cathedral!
